The Masters Corner
Greeting from the
East.
As I sit here and
prepare this Trestleboard Message on this beautiful spring morning, I am
thinking of the harmony in our lodge and the work our Lodge members have done
and what we have ahead of us in the next couple of months. Our fuel tanks are
properly installed and due to the generosity of many, at a substantial
savings. No corners were cut, everything
is up to snuff. The addition of the
building housing the tanks is professional and the entire hookup was done by a
soon to be brother who does that type of work professionally. Thank you to all of you who made this
possible.
Tonight, April 16th, we will
initiate two candidates and two more next Monday! That will leave us with 4 to vote on at our
May Stated Meeting and I have had discussions with our officer about other
applications out there. The Grand
Communication will have taken place by the First Monday and our new Grand
Master will have been installed. MW A
James Ross will lead us for the next two years with his quiet strength and I
will be proud to announce that Jim is our new Grand Master at our May
Stated. Jim, as you have seen, has been
and will be a participant in many of the events and degree work York Lodge has
done. He will be with us on St. Johns
Sunday June 24th to attend church across the street from our Lodge
Hall, be with us for coffee after and will lead us to the graveside of one of
our founding brothers located in the forgotten cemetery out on Rte. 1 South,
just past Herbie’s Seafood. We will have
all of the details in the June Trestleboard but I am asking you to please set
that Sunday aside so you and your lady can join us for the day. Our officers are working hard on this event
and I would like to see their efforts supported. It will also give you a chance to meet our
new Grand Master and his lady. I think
you will enjoy the day. I know I will enjoy seeing all of you.
I am also thrilled by
the brotherly love and friendship that flows at our Second Saturday
Breakfasts. This month’s was well
attended and I had the opportunity to work with two of the candidates we will be
initiating this month. They showed up
and asked if they can assist us. It is
great! We are also using this day to
have investigating committees meet with the applicants and review their
petitions. I think it is a good first
bonding step for our potential new members and it seems to be working. My
praise to all who are doing this part of our membership process. We have room
for more of our brothers to participate on these committees and I would ask you
to contact me so I can assign you to a candidate when his partition is read in
open lodge. There is a need for all of us and I would like to see the work
spread out amongst all of the brethren of the lodge.
The Second Saturday
Suppers we are holding do need your support.
We have a number of brothers and their families attending but we need
stronger numbers to help generate the income we need to fund Temple Corps
activities. We will start advertizing in
the Kennebunk Post to reach the general public and our sign out front will draw
people in from the campground up the street, but we need your help too. Our dinners are only $8 per person and we do
fill the plates. Please try to attend.
Another event I think
you will enjoy will be our Annual Inspection on May 14th. We will have supper at 6 PM and inspection
begins at 7 PM. We will pass 3 or 4
Entered Apprentices to the degree of Fellowcraft and I want you to see our
officers perform the ritual and floorwork they have worked so hard on all this
year. We will also be wearing the new
jewels and aprons Temple Corp purchased in January. A right smart looking group of officers!
So that is it from
here. May the blessings of heaven rest
upon us and all regular Masons and give us peace.
Take care, W. Brian Ingalls
