FROM THE EAST:
Greetings brethren!
Take a walk in the woods, scuff up the leaves in a sunny spot and what
do you find? May flowers! When we were kids the first sighting
was a sure sign that better things were coming. New sneakers and
daylight saving timing…a great time of year! We are a bit older now
but it is still a great time of year and it is here!
It is a busy time
of year at Springvale Lodge with two Master Mason degrees last month and
an Entered Apprentice degree on the 27th of this month. It is heartening
to meet young men, in today’s world, still interested in joining our fraternity.
The lessons taught in Free Masonry are as relevant today as they were when
we were kids. Perhaps even more as the pace of life speeds up.
I encourage you to find time in your busy life to attend lodge, enjoy the
fellowship and be reminded of those lessons that can make a difference
in any mans life no matter what the age.
In June we are planning
an Awards Night to honor those brothers who have reached their 25th, 40th,
and 50th+ year in Masonry. We will have the details in our June trestle
board. The evening should make for a great reunion time.
For those less fortunate
we maintain a box for food donations at the top of the stairs. Please
consider bringing a nonperishable food product (canned veg., pasta, soup,
box of dry cereal etc) to add to the collection. The officers will
deliver them to a local food pantry.
I am looking
forward to seeing you on the 13th and the 27th.
Fraternally,
WM Roger E. Lister
